Role: CyberSecurity Engineer
Location: Hartford, CT
Duration: 12 Months
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serve as a core contributor on multi-disciplinary project teams (internal staff and contractor staff) to improve the State cybersecurity services/solutions and respective implementation, including requirements development.
- Work with stakeholders to assess legacy systems and identify opportunities for improved cyber security of future systems.
- Lead technical solutioning to address agency intake requests and operational requirements.
- Assess solutions for implementation within the State as part of centralized services.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are preferred.
General Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cyber security.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
Specialized Experience:
• Specific experience in engineering and implementing cyber solutions.
• Experience working in cross functional teams as a cyber engineer.
• Experience leading solution assessment and requirements development and alignment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduate degree or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA
• Experience as a cyber engineer supporting Endpoint Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Firewall, (P)DNS, SSL, CDN, and other core cyber services.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts.
• Project management skills, with experience in planning, scheduling, and monitoring the delivery of cybersecurity services.
